Flocabulary Club:  Using Flocabulary to teach 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders about rhythm, beats, structure, and language.

Flocabulary will help students improve their writing and become better critical, objective readers of their own work. Math blasts use hip-hop to excite students about often daunting math concepts. The program will challenge students to analyze current music and create their own, by writing lyrics to a hip hop song, and encouraging them to set it to music if they wish.  A Performance will occur at "Building Community Through Food Night" on Monday, April 26, 2010, where students can perform in front the community audience, their works of poetry and hip-hop created over a six week workshop. (6 weeks, every Friday, March 5 – April 9, 2010 from noon-1:00 pm).
